Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has cautioned media houses against allowing their platforms to be used to make slanderous claims against the former president.
Describing claims by one Kwame Baffoe that the former President has rented an apartment for one Joyce Mensah in Germany to escape arrest in Ghana as false, Joyce Mogtari said in a statement that “the media should note that they have a public charge to use their organisations to hold government accountable and proffer creative ideas for a government that has run out of ideas and yet takes no responsibility for anything.”
“We are by this statement further cautioning radio, TV and other media platforms that provide people like the said Abronye the space to spew vile slander against President Mahama to desist from doing so”, she added.
The statement described Mr. Baffoe as a ventriloquist of President Nana Akufo-Addo and who has become a conduit through which the NPP churns out the most outrageous lies and propaganda against the person of the former President.
It is a sad testimony, that a serial fibster such as Kwame Baffoe occupies a position of trust such as a Regional Vice Chairman of the ruling party. Such persons debase our political system and are responsible for the continued erosion of public trust in our democratic dispensation, the statement added.
Joyce Mogtari also asked President Akufo-Addo to call his propaganda side kick to order.
